UK manufacturing in rude health
Baxter Hall was represented at the Advanced Manufacturing Exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC last week, and the array of UK businesses on show demonstrates the strength of the knowledge-based economy in engineering in the UK at the moment. Companies from across the country engaged in fascinating projects in composites and emerging technologies were present in abundance, and many of them are searching for new talent to bolster their engineering resources.
We came across opportunities in many disciplines, including design, analysis and manufacturing, and we are working with several new partners, particularly in the SME sector, to help them locate the scarce resource they need.
The strength in the supply chains for major automotive manufacturers was evident, and with this week’s visit of the Indian Prime Minister heralding many millions of pounds-worth of new investment in the UK technology sector, together with strong sales figures from UK OEMs, this growth seems set to continue.
