MP opens new Baxter Hall offices

Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery hailed South Hampshire’s entrepreneurial spirit and the strength of the region’s economy as he opened specialist recruitment firm Baxter Hall’s brand new offices.

george_ed_mattMr Hollingbery’s upbeat message came as he officially launched Baxter Hall Recruitment’s purpose-built new home in Shedfield – a crucial step forward as the firm, founded in 2012, continues to thrive and grow.

At the reception for Baxter Hall’s contacts and colleagues, and representatives of local companies, Mr Hollingbery spoke of his pride in the successful businesses in his constituency.

The MP said: “This is a fantastic launch event in a great building for a very exciting business. It’s a reflection of the strength of the economy of South Hampshire that I see new businesses all the time that are starting and growing and this is happening all over the area.

“The recruitment market is enormously fast-paced and rapidly growing and Baxter Hall is in at the right place at the right time. They have a very particular niche which they have successfully built on.”

Baxter Hall, which specialises in recruitment in the fields of IT, project management and engineering with a particular focus on the automotive, aerospace and energy sectors, was in need of new premises for its rapidly-growing team.

The firm’s directors worked in close partnership with their landlord, Shedfield House Estate, as the new building took shape.

The office, on the site of a former workshop, is very close to Baxter Hall’s previous home on the estate but has been specifically built for the company and is designed to be spacious, modern and fully-networked as well as being environmentally-friendly with low energy consumption.

officesThe building taps into the estate’s dedicated superfast fibre optic broadband network and fibre leased line and also boasts energy-saving features such as ground-source heat pumps, which use stored solar energy or “ground heat” to provide heating and hot water – reducing the use of fossil fuels.

Mark Phillimore of Shedfield House Estate said at the event: “We are very pleased to have been working with Baxter Hall since 2012. It’s great to have been able to create an advanced office for a business that is so forward-looking.

“One of the most important things about business is partnership and networks and that is something that is very clearly in evidence here. We are really proud of this building.”

Baxter Hall was founded by directors Ed Wright, who leads the firm’s IT business sector, and Matt Salmon, who leads the Engineering division. Between them they have more than 30 years’ experience in recruitment.

Welcoming guests to the event, Ed spoke of Baxter Hall’s plans for future growth and of the directors’ intentions to recruit new staff from Hampshire.

Three new employees who are due to start this week were present at the launch, and there are plans to support the government’s apprenticeship scheme.

Ed said: “We are delighted with the move into our new office, which is the culmination of months of planning. It’s great to see the plans come together and we are grateful to all those who have helped us along the way.

“Our staff love Baxter Hall’s new home and we look forward to welcoming new members to the team as we continue to go from strength to strength.”
